How do I install iWitness?
Visit the Download page, click Add to Chrome, and pin the extension to your toolbar. Protection starts on your next browsing session.
Is my browsing data sent to iWitness servers?
Settings, alerts, and preferences are stored locally on your device. When AI analysis runs, relevant page text is sent to our secure API for processing. We do not sell your data.
Why does iWitness need access to websites?
The extension reads visible page content to generate trust scores, privacy summaries, and safety alerts. This is required for the product to work.
How do daily trust checks work?
The Free plan includes 25 AI-powered trust checks per day. Heuristic analysis may still run when limits are reached.
Does iWitness work in French?
Yes. Alerts, summaries, and voice warnings support English and French.
How do I clear my data or uninstall?
Use Clear Cache and Clear Alerts in extension Settings, or uninstall the extension to remove all local data.
The extension is not working on a site
Some browser pages (chrome://, extension pages) cannot be analyzed. Reload the page and ensure iWitness is enabled in chrome://extensions.
How do I report a false positive?
Email support@myiwitness.online with the site URL and a screenshot. We use feedback to improve detection.
